Our Soap Making Processes
We use three distinct methods to craft our soaps, each with its own unique characteristics and benefits.
Cold Process
Cold process is the most traditional method of soap making. We carefully combine oils — like coconut oil, olive oil, babassu oil, castor oil, and tallow — with a lye-water solution. The mixture is blended to trace, poured into molds, and left to cure for 4-6 weeks. This slow curing process creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. Cold process allows us to fully customize every ingredient for maximum skin benefits.
Benefits
- Maximum control over ingredients
- Naturally retains glycerin for moisturizing
- Produces a hard, long-lasting bar
- 4-6 week cure time develops a luxurious lather

Hot Process
Hot process soap making is similar to cold process, but uses heat to accelerate the saponification process. After combining oils and lye, the mixture is cooked (often in a slow cooker) until the soap is fully saponified. This method produces a more rustic-looking bar and can be used sooner since the saponification is complete before unmolding. Hot process soaps retain the same nourishing properties as cold process.
Benefits
- Faster production time
- Fully saponified before unmolding
- Rustic, artisan appearance
- Same nourishing ingredients as cold process
Melt & Pour
Melt & Pour is a versatile soap making method where we start with a pre-made soap base (glycerin or goat milk), melt it down, and add our own fragrances, colors, botanicals, and designs. This method allows for incredible creativity — from embedded honeycomb patterns to vibrant color swirls. Melt & Pour soaps are gentle, great for sensitive skin, and ready to use right away.
Benefits
- Beautiful designs and embeds possible
- Glycerin-rich for gentle cleansing
- Ready to use immediately
- Perfect for sensitive skin (especially goat milk bases)
